Dear Animal Lover....

YOU ARE INVITED - PLEASE COME.

An article in NEWSWEEK dated June 27th, 2005 ("My Turn") by the new director
of the New York City SPCA prompted me and others to try to get going here
what New York has done: Work Seriously toward making our shelters "no kill."
We appreciate that this is not something that can happen overnight. (New
York's killing rate: down 17% in 2004 and another reduction of 25% so far
in '05). We recognize the SPCAs as the main animal control / adoption /
neutering agency in our area - and that we have to move them to act. We
recognize that you get more with honey than with vinegar....and want to be
positive and constuctive about getting OUR SPCAs/shelters to take concrete
steps toward becoming "No Kill."

If you would like to become part of this force - working with like-minded
people to do things large and small to help our SPCAs to stop the killing
then please come to a meeting THIS SUNDAY, AUGUST 7TH AT 1:00 PM.
AT 3106 DAUPHINE STREET (JUST OFF THE CORNER OF CLOUET
- BEFORE THE BYWATER BBQ RESTAURANT).
For more information: 236-5898.

Sincerely,

M M. G
(Past Board Member of LA/SPCA)
